We here at Fishing Fools are constantly looking for new baits to try and catch those allusive fish - It's so easy to get carried away with the costly commercial bait offerings, and overlook the good old fashioned basic natural baits.
One of our favourites is the Cheese and Bread mix. You can use it as a hook bait, or make into a dissolving ground bait mix for feeder fishing - you can add your own flavourings however with a good bit of cheese, you won't need to add much.
Ingredients Needed
- Bread
- Cheese
- Water
1) Start by breaking down the bread into almost powder. You can do this by either grating the bread, using your hands to break it up, or using a grinder / blender.
2) Place your Bread into a tub / bucket. Use as much bread as you wish, depending on how much bait you want to make!
3) Grate up plenty of cheese, straight into the tub where your bread is sitting. Grate the cheese as small as possible, so make sure that you use the smaller side of the grater.
4) You now have the choice to put in an additive. You can either use some of the pre-made available from a local tackle shop, or go for you own varieties like chocolate powder, condensed milk or even curry powder for that extra zing.
5) Now you have the bread and cheese mixture you can add some water to the mixture. You do not need a lot, just a little will help the mixture to stick together nicely.
6) You should now have paste ready to fish with... You should be able to either mold the the mixture directly onto the hook, or if you have problems making this stay, you can hair rig the mixture over a small boilie of cork stop.
