I'm looking at going fishing again in the next week or two but before then I wanted to know what tactics I could use to help me get bigger fish. Now if you look on the site gallery you can see a couple of the fish I have caught. There have been one or two Carp and a couple of very small Perch but I'm looking to progress to something bigger.
To help I have been buying a couple of magazines one particular mag had a free DVD. Now the DVD as cheesey as it was had a number of good sections but one of the key topics was the type of baits to use. So far I have been the advocate of float fishing with maggots, Its done ok so far. The DVD stated that maggots are an all round bait for any number of fish but your likely going to get stuck with smaller fish, again check the gallery and you can see this is true. The advice given was to move to more advanced baits such as boilies which will require setting up the line differently. I guess I may have to try some new tactics and I will write up my findings but I guess the key is to remember that different tactics and baits will land different and maybe larger fish.
One last thing whilst researching I found a number of different techniques for float fishing one being that of the lifting method, it also looks like there is a way to use a float with a ledger weight which sounds interesting check the link fior more information http://www.thenumberone.co.uk/float.htm .
Well it looks like I will need to try out some new methods next time I go fishing and if I get any luck then may be there will be some more pictures in the gallery.
Any way see you all soon
