Well today was a recognisance day to try and find some new venues for Fishing Fools - A list had been compiled of likely locations, the car topped up and the GPS programmed with all the coordinates
- Arriving at the first lake found it to be completely empty of fish and water..doh! One of the lakes was at the end of a 3 mile green lane mud/dirt track that made me glad to have a 4x4 (I could of been stuck there for days otherwise
) There was a nice 4 acre lake over at Wainsford that went on the possible list, and the lakes at Whitemoor that got crossed of due to the size limit on hooks ! Once all the lakes had been viewed, a trip to the local tackle shop was on the cards to get costs for day tickets...unfortunately it was at this point I found out that all these venues had stopped doing day tickets
Ah well, fun afternoon anyway, and it's certainly made me even keener to join an Angling Club to get access to more varied waters...

First lake of the day and not a good start - at least they left the buoyancy aid just in case |
Ah...The green lane mud pit was excellent fun...I did get some strange looks from the horse riders who probably aren't accustomed to seeing vehicles on the track...I blame the GPS myself... |

| Wainsford lake view from the car park - looks like a very nice venue with 24 swims...pity they stopped the day tickets. |
View from peg 24 at the top of the lake down towards the inlet and narrower end. |

| Somerley lakes just to the north of Ringwood are situated next to the Gravel pits and are a huge complex of swims and features...lots of road noise from the A31 and A338 unfortunately. |
Whitemoor Lakes coarse fishing near Holt and Ferndown offered a nice location, but had very strict rules including no boilies, no hooks bigger than 14 and no bolt rigs. |
