Just got back from a fantastic days fishing at Greenridge Farm Coarse Fishery near Romsey - The venue is made up of four canal style lakes with really good access to the car park, the swims are very good construction, and are spaced out enough to avoid beginners like me getting hooked on your next door neighbour - there's also a nice lake on site with around 10 well spaced swims.  The fishery location is very rural, set amongst dense woodland, with well established trees and features - a real struggle to find though, don't rely on the GPS, this is one for the old paper based map Wink

Fishing was much more brisk then I was expecting, especially considering the time of year and the outside temperature only being a few degrees ! It took a good hour to get the fish feeding in the swim, with the initial influx of small roach grabbing the hook on every cast!  The fish were going crazy over some casters (maggots left over from last week Tongue out) I even had to switch to a larger hook from my faithful size 16 to a size 12 as the casters were being whipped of the end without the hook setting.  The feeding frenzy from the smaller fish also lead to the big fish moving in to find out what all the fuss was about, this resulted in some really high spirited carp catches from 2 - 5lb's and some really exciting bends on the rod ! see some of them in the photo gallery...

Certainly an interesting venue, which is worth another visit over the winter period Cool
